Work on the Luau/Cazombo/Lumbala Caquengue road starts in June

Africa-Press – Angola. Construction work on the main inter-municipal roads in Moxico province, with emphasis on Marco25 (Luau) /Cazombo/Lumbala Caquengue, will begin next June, governor Ernesto Muangala announced in Cangamba.

This is the completion of the road between Marco 25/Cazombo/Lumbala Caquengue, allowing the connection of the municipalities of Luau and Alto Zambeze, over a distance of 192 kilometres.

The official also announced, for “soon”, the construction of the Luzi/Cassanba/Cangamba section, in the municipality of Luchazes, as well as the road that connects the municipalities of Léua/Cameia/Luacano/Luau, along the National Road EN250, parallel to the Benguela Railway.

He reiterated that the referred works will be intervened by the companies MCA (Léua/Cameia) and AFAVIAs (Cameia/Luacano/Luau), respectively, whose means have already been installed for the beginning of the works.

Ernesto Muangala said that these projects will be accompanied by the asphalting of the municipal seats of Léua, Cameia and Luacano, with a duration of 48 months (4 years), according to the contracts signed.

The province of Moxico has only 576 kilometers paved, out of the 3,477 kilometers that make up the region’s road network, and of the nine municipalities, only one (Camanongue) is connected by paved road.
