Africa-Press – Angola. The Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança Costa, left Luanda this Friday, bound for Ankara, to represent the Head of State, João Lourenço, at the inauguration of the re-elected President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

In power since 2014, Recep Tayyip Erdogan won last Sunday (28), the second round of presidential elections, for a new five-year term, with 52.54% of the votes, against 47.9% of the social democrat Kemal Kiliçdaroglu.

According to official data, around 64 million voters went to the polls in this election.

The first round of elections took place on May 14, when the Justice and Development Party (AKP), which supports Erdogan, won an absolute majority in the legislatures, winning 325 of the 600 parliamentary seats.

According to analysts, these were the most disputed elections since Erdogan came to power.
