Africa-Press – Angola. The ministerial departments should reduce bureaucracy in the payment of projects of the Integrated Plan of Intervention in the Municipalities (PIIM) of Moxico, defended, this Saturday, in Luena, the coordinator of the MPLA Parliamentary Group, Ruth Mendes.

According to the official, who carried out the balance sheet, after this parliamentary group had verified the socio-economic situation of some municipalities in the province, she said that some construction companies alleged delay in payments by the ministerial departments.

“Some works were not ready, because the funds were not made available in advance”, he maintained.

Despite this, he pointed to the high state of degradation of the roads in the region, as another factor that has been influencing the delay in completing social projects in the municipalities.

He added that the phenomenon of unemployment, the implementation of technical courses and pedagogical aggregation of young people who finished secondary school, as well as the electrification of municipalities were other concerns raised by the population.

He promised to advocate together with the dedicated Ministries, with a view to mitigating these problems, to satisfy the needs of the population.

The province of Moxico has 139 PIIM projects under construction in communal and municipal headquarters, in the sectors of education, health, water, public lighting, earthworks and basic sanitation.

According to recent government data, eighty-three projects, equivalent to 60 percent of the PIIM works, have already been completed in Moxico province.

For the completion of the referred works, up to now, more than 50 percent of the budget has been spent, of the 32 billion kwanzas of the overall value of the PIIM earmarked for Moxico.
