Africa-Press – Angola. The Provincial Delegate of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) in Malanje, Commissioner João Cariqui, defended Sunday, the permanent improvement of the personnel of the Rapid Intervention Police (PIR), with a view to combating crime and guaranteeing public order.

Speaking at the provincial act alluding to the 31st anniversary of the PIR, the official highlighted the need for the body to live up to the demands inherent in the country’s political and social transformations, through continuous training and raising levels of organization and discipline.

He acknowledged the difficulties faced by the PIR, but added that the Ministry of the Interior has been making efforts to improve its performance and satisfy the wishes of its staff.

With that, he stressed, a Rapid Intervention Police is expected based on the spirit of patriotism and that raises the image of the corporation.
