Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan government is prioritizing the training of journalists, given the evolution of new information technologies, said, this Monday, the Secretary of State for Social Communication, Nuno Caldas.

Speaking during the opening of the knowledge updating course for radio journalists, given at the Journalists Training Center (Cefojor) by professionals from RTP, the Secretary of State said that this program aims at valuing and dignifying staff, in the sense that they are better prepared for the communicational challenges that the world faces today.

In this context, Nuno Calda spoke of the inauguration, soon, of the Regional Training Center for Journalists in the province of Huambo, which will be a “great booster for the training of staff at the country and SADC level”.

The five-day course aims to provide media professionals with practical knowledge and skills for capturing and editing sound, interviewing and radio reporting, among other subjects.

For the director of Cefojor, Ikuma Bamba, this training is part of the partnership between the institution he directs and RTP, giving Angolan media professionals the opportunity to be on top of new concepts and techniques, taking into account the evolution of science.

He referred that this partnership will be extended to other specialties, with emphasis on Public Relations, which also includes institutional communication, press relations and internal communication.
