Vulnerable families receive food support in Porto Amboim

Africa-Press – Angola. 100 57 families in a situation of social vulnerability and 25 affected by the rains of last April, in the municipality of Porto Amboim, province of Cuanza Sul, to receive food support from the local administration.

Those assisted received beans, vegetable oil, corn meal, rice, wheat flour, palm oil, pasta and others, to minimize their need.

On the occasion, the municipal director of social action in Porto Amboim, Angelina Caetano, said that the support will be extended to other families in the neighborhoods of Pinda, Cazanga and Ngola Mussungo.

For this year, he informed that the municipal directorate of Social Action, within the National Development Plan (PDN), intends to carry out a global survey of the number of families in vulnerable situations, with a view to implementing sustainability projects.

“It is not enough just to continue to provide food to vulnerable families, we want to train them to get jobs”, he said.

In the Municipality of Porto Amboim, with an area of ​​3,651 square kilometers, it has an estimated population of over 140 thousand inhabitants, distributed in the seat and in the commune of Capolo.
