Africa-Press – Angola. Taxi drivers and motorcycle taxi drivers started to receive, this Saturday, in Uíge province, their gasoline subsidy cards, for the purchase of the product at a price of 160 kwanzas.
The cards allow taxi drivers and motorcycle taxi drivers to continue paying a liter of gasoline at the price of 160 kwanzas, instead of 300, according to the new tariff in force.
The province of Uíge received, in the first phase, 995 gasoline subsidy cards that will be given to taxi drivers and motorcycle taxi drivers in the municipalities of Uíge, Negage, Mucaba, Buengas, Quitexe, Bembe, Maquela do Zombo, Bungo and Bembe.
In the second phase, the process will cover the municipalities of Songo, Ambuila, Milunga, Sanza Pombo, Quimbele, Damba and Puri.
The act of handing over the cards to motorcycle taxi drivers in the municipality of Uíge took place yesterday at the Candombe Velho filling station, on the outskirts of the city of Uíge, and the location initially has a total of 245 cards.
A similar event will take place on Sunday (17th) in the municipalities of Negage and Quitexe.
The province of Uíge licensed 2,520 taxi drivers and motorcycle taxi drivers, out of a total of 4,394 registered operators.
