Africa-Press – Angola. The athletes from the judo team that won four gold and two bronze medals at the “Continental Open`2023”, ended Saturday, in Abidjan (Côte d`Ivoire), started this Monday the preparation aiming at other international fronts .

These are cadet, junior and senior fighters Leonardo Menezes, Eldimira Segunda, Diassonema Neide, Andreza Antonio and Wilson Menina, who are part of the pre-selection that will participate in a tournament in the DRC in July.

According to the program of the Angolan Judo Federation, the national team should also participate in the African Cadet and Junior Championship, in July, in Madagascar, and the Cadet World Championship, in Lithuania.

Participation in the Junior World Championship, in October, in Portugal and the African Championship in Kenya, in August, is also foreseen.

At the “Continental Open`2023”, held in Abidjan, Angola won the gold medal by Leonardo Menezes, in junior and senior (under 60 kg).

Also on the podium were Eldimira Segunda, gold medal in junior and bronze in senior (-48 kg), Diassonema Neide, gold medal in senior (-63 kg) and Andreza Antonio, bronze medal in senior (-57 kg) ).

Wilson Girl -81 kg did not win any medal.
