Africa-Press – Angola. The leaders of Parliamentary Groups of the National Assembly (AN) addressed this Wednesday, the need for deputies to excel in good conduct, being a model for society.
The information was provided to the press by the 1st Vice-President of the House of Laws, Américo Cunonoca, adding that parliamentarians have a privileged space where they can present the concerns of those represented, that is, the needs, concerns and problems that affect the populations.
He also said that any unseemly conduct could also affect the image of the National Assembly, which is a body of national sovereignty, whose members must also prioritize the defense of the State and the public interest.
The deputy was speaking after an extraordinary meeting of leaders of Parliamentary Groups of the National Assembly (AN) aimed at readjusting the agenda of the 7th Ordinary Plenary Meeting of the 1st Legislative Session of the V Legislature, scheduled for Thursday (22).
At the meeting, led by the President of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, the leaders decided on an agenda in which it was possible to highlight the discussion and voting, in general, of the proposals for a Law that amends Law no 5/17, of 23 January, regarding the Law Organization of the Regulatory Entity of the Angolan Social Communication and the Statute of the Journalist.
Parliamentarians will also discuss and vote, in general, the Proposal of Law approving the Statute of Former Presidents of the Republic.
On the other hand, he informed that the meeting of leaders of Parliamentary Groups urged the deputies to be more engaged in the preparation of the 147th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (UIP), which the country will host in October.
According to the 1st Vice-President of the House of Laws, the leaders emphasize the fact that more than 1,700 deputies from different parliaments could attend the event.
According to Américo Cunononca, “there is a need to involve all deputies, especially those who are part of groups created for this purpose”.
Agenda of the 7th Ordinary Plenary Meeting of the 1st Legislative Session of the V Legislature
– Consideration and voting of the Summary Minutes referring to the 5th and 6th Ordinary Plenary Meetings of the 1st Legislative Session of the V Legislature of the AN, held on the 19th and 20th of April of the current year.
– Final Global Vote on the Bill approving the Labor Procedure Code.
– Discussion and voting on the Legislative Authorization Bill that authorizes the President of the Republic, as Holder of Executive Power, to legislate on the amendment of the Fiscal Regime for the Concession of Block 30.
– Discussion and voting on the Bill of Legislative Authorization that authorizes the President of the Republic, as holder of the Executive Power, to legislate on the alteration of the Fiscal Regime of the Concession of Block 44.
-Discussion and voting on the Bill of Legislative Authorization that authorizes the President of the Republic, as holder of the Executive Power, to legislate on the amendment of the Tax Regime for the Concession of Block 45.
– Discussion and voting, in general terms, on the Proposal for a Law amending Law No. 5/17, of 23 January, Organic Law on the Regulatory Entity of the Angolan Media.
