Africa-Press – Angola. Reinforcement of cooperation between the Government of Angola and the Macau Forum, in the fields of the blue economy, was discussed this Thursday at a meeting between the head of Angolan diplomacy, Téte António, and the secretary general of Macau Forum Permanent Secretariat, Ji Xianzheng.

At the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, expressed the Angolan Government’s predisposition to draw on the experience of the Macau Forum, especially in the fields of the blue economy, entrepreneurship and the Development Fund.

The Angolan official emphasized the importance of Angola’s participation in promoting the blue economy, as a rising branch of Portuguese-speaking countries, taking into account the programs of the regional underdevelopment platform, around maritime policies.

The diplomat took the opportunity to provide support for the 6th Macau Ministerial Conference to be held from November to December of this year.

On the occasion, the secretary general of the Permanent Secretariat of the Macau Forum expressed the desire to see Angola present concrete projects capable of benefiting from the said Fund.

Ji Xianzheng ensured the institutional sponsorship of the business incubator, under the auspices of the Macau Forum, with a view to helping Angolan entrepreneurs to reach levels of excellence.

The official informed that the Secretariat he heads is available to work on strengthening cooperation with the Angolan business sector.

Ji Xianzheng also mentioned the availability of institutional sponsorship for the Germination of Cities Project and in particular the provision of technical assistance in the training of human resources.

Created in October 2003, the Macau Forum is an intergovernmental cooperation mechanism focused on economic and trade development.

It aims to consolidate economic and commercial exchange between China and Portuguese-speaking countries (Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe, and East Timor).
