Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, has already left the city of Uíge, bound for Luanda, after making a two-day working visit to that province.

During his stay in Uíge, the Head of Executive Power guided the 1st Meeting of the Local Governance Council (CGL), which was attended by the governors of the 18 provinces and heads of ministerial departments.

Among other topics, the meeting, held Thursday, considered the Emergency Program for Containment of Ravines and Construction and Rehabilitation of National Roads, to contain and reduce the risk of catastrophe by landslides in all provinces of the country.

On Friday, the second day of the working visit to Uíge province, the President of the Republic went to the agricultural fair, which exposed the potential of the region in this economic field.

President João Lourenço was applauded by the population as he walked through the agricultural exhibition.

At the fair, in addition to agricultural products, the President of the Republic said he was satisfied with the fact that he saw very good initiatives by young people “in the technological field which, if well used and disseminated to the rest of the country, we can only gain”.

The Holder of Executive Power also delivered vehicles to the municipal administrations of Puri, Damba, Songo, Mucaba and Sanza Pombo.
