MPLA wants greater dynamism in grassroots structures

Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA’s first secretary in Cunene, Gerdina Didalelwa, recommended today, Tuesday, in Ondjiva, a reassessment of the work of the party’s basic structures in the region, with a view to imprinting a new dynamic on action in the communities.

The leader, who was speaking at the Third Ordinary Session of the Provincial Committee of the MPLA, said that the basic structures of the party in power, specifically in Cunene, should be more active and communicative.

Gerdina Didalelwa understands that it is necessary to communicate better with the masses, based on the statutes, with a focus on governance closer to the citizen.

He recalled that the party structures play an important role in revitalizing internal growth campaigns, hence the involvement of OMA (female arm) and JMPLA (youth organization) in the mobilization of women and youth.

“The challenges are enormous, but if everyone does their part within what is the guideline, everyone would be contributing to change the framework”, he declared.

The one-day meeting will analyze, among other matters, government activity, monitoring and evaluation of the MPLA’s work in the region, as well as the socio-economic situation in the province.
