MPLA reiterates commitment to democracy

Africa-Press – Angola. The first provincial secretary of the MPLA in Lunda Norte, Deolinda Satula Vilarinho, said this Thursday that her party is firmly engaged in consolidating the democratic rule of law, making Angola a more open, competitive and inclusive nation, where the exercise of freedoms is a permanent fact.

The official made this statement at the opening of the third provincial methodological meeting on the organization of the party’s work, stressing that the consolidation and defense of freedoms, social justice, fraternity and equal opportunities for all are at the heart of the MPLA’s priorities.

“The constant renewal, supported by a deep methodological focus, always in the sense of better interpreting and satisfying the deepest aspirations of the Angolan people, represent the concern of the MPLA in working more and better for and with the people”, he stressed.

He said that the meeting constitutes a great opportunity for the discussion of pertinent subjects, in the search for the best performance of the party, at all levels, in a political scenario of challenges and increasingly competitive.

According to Deolinda Vilarinho, ensuring the deepening of internal democracy and a capacity for mobilization and insertion in society must constitute a permanent mission of the militants, for a better interpretation of social phenomena and the consequent search for concrete and sustainable solutions.

He underlined that the party must continue to establish goals that translate into the most sublime objectives of the population, with a focus on solving the problems of the communities.

On the other hand, he appealed to the population, in particular the youth, to refrain from practices that jeopardize the democratic rule of law, sovereignty, peace, reconciliation, unity and social stability.

In the two-day meeting, the militants will discuss organization and mobilization, staff policies, State reform, Public Administration and Municipalities, Information and Communication Technology, Patriotic Education, among other subjects.
