Africa-Press – Angola. Issues related to the organization of the Red Cross of Angola (CVA) were under analysis Thursday, during an audience that the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, granted to the president of the institution, Delfina Cumandala.
Speaking to the press at the end of the meeting, Delfina Cumandala said that she had presented to the Angolan Head of State, as honorary president of the CVA, matters that afflict the institution, with emphasis on ongoing projects and those linked to the social conditions of employees .
The official underlined that the institution is working with national and international organizations and companies to obtain support, with a view to helping populations still affected by the drought, in certain regions of the country.
Delfina Cumandala assumed the presidency of the Red Cross of Angola in May of this year, as a result of elections.
The Red Cross of Angola was created on March 16, 1978 and recognized by the International Committee of the Red Cross on October 1, 1986.
It is also affiliated with the Federation of National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
The institution provides social and medical assistance to needy people.
