Africa-Press – Angola. Sixty kilograms and 128 grams of cocaine were incinerated Thursday, at the premises of the industrial waste treatment company “Ricolix”, in the municipality of Viana, in Luanda, by the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC).

Cocaine, thus 509 kilos and 350 of cannabis (liamba), was seized in the period from November 2022 to March of this at the International Airport “4 de Fevereiro” from the Republic of Brazil to Namibia and the Democratic Congo.

Speaking to the press, the SIC spokesman, Manuel Halaiwa, informed that during the operation 12 citizens of Angolan, Namibian, Nigerian and Tanzanian nationality were arrested.

Of this group, four were female, carrying the drug concealed in belts used as underwear, in their stomachs (capsules), inside suitcases, cosmetics packaging, juice packages, as well as in backpacks.

He made it known that the destruction of the drug aims to remove access to potential consumers as it constitutes a catalyst for the commission of various crimes.
