Africa-Press – Angola. 1o Agosto will continue to export players to various parts of the world, aiming at obtaining income, taking advantage of the talent production base, said this Saturday, in Luanda, the club’s vice-president for football, Paulo Magueijo.

Addressing the theme “Training as a resource for survival”, at the 3rd edition of the Angolan Sports Business Conference (CONFENDA), he argued that the “military” guild has already been working on a business side, albeit timidly, withdrawing income from your academy.

“The investment in the club’s academy has given and will give new satisfactory results. First of all, we form the man and then the footballer, through talent and the consequent business ”, he explained.

He also defended greater interaction between those who form the young footballer, the agent and the destination club, as a way of avoiding misunderstandings.

On the occasion, as an example, he cited the real value of the transfer of the defensive midfielder Show, budgeted at One Million and Five Hundred Thousand Dollars, so far, the biggest transaction of an Angolan footballer abroad.

The Angolan international, who left 1o de Agosto in 2019, signed for Lile de França.

In recent years, the “military” club has regularly sold players such as Gelson Dala, Ary Papel, Zito Luvumbo, Kapita, Show, Mário Balburdia, Nelson da Luz and Zini.

The third edition of CONFENDA, taking place since Friday at Memorial Agostinho Neto, in Luanda, brings together academics, sports and business managers, sportsmen and leaders of clubs, federations and associations.

The event ends this Sunday.
