Africa-Press – Angola. The municipal administrator of Porto Amboim (Cuanza Sul), Maria Sumano, delivered yesterday to shipowners and fishermen 142 cards for the purchase of subsidized gasoline at the price of Kz 160 per litre.
“With the delivery of these cards, we want the shipowners to use the cards correctly, avoiding trying to withdraw the financial amounts allocated to the subsidy at Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs)”, warned the person in charge.
By the way, the director of the Provincial Office for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Laurindo Ladeira, recently urged local fishermen and shipowners to register, so that licensed vessels can receive cards with a charge of Kz 140,000 per month.
For his part, ship owner Álvaro Domingos highlighted the value of cards for the purchase of subsidized gasoline, and recalled that “we feel relieved considering that we will continue to pay Kz160 per liter”.
“We want the government to supervise the fuel stations where we are buying gasoline and, on the other hand, to license fuel sales stations with priority to fishermen and shipowners, in order to facilitate the supply of our vessels”, suggested.
On the other hand, the President of the Fishermen’s Association, Bernardo Mateus, reaffirmed the need to decentralize the issuance of gasoline subsidy cards, to avoid delays and some discontent on the part of shipowners.
“It is necessary to empower the local authorities so that there is speed and decongest the issue of cards, just see that since the 2nd of June last, with the rise to three hundred liters of gasoline, some fishermen still continue to buy at a non-subsidised price ”.
In the Municipality of Porto Amboim there are 351 fishing shipowners registered and 222 licensed vessels.
