Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the National Youth Council (CNJ), Isaías Calunga, Tuesday, in Luanda, appealed to the Government to help the 1.o de Agosto club to finish building the Sports City, to continue training athletes of high competition.
According to the official, the project is a gain for Angola, which is why he asks the ministerial departments of the Executive to support the Club, in order to complete the Colégio 1.o de Agosto, the university and other social assets, which will also guarantee more job opportunities for young people.
In his opinion, the Government’s help is necessary, because with the completion of the construction of the Sports City, the level of employability of the citizens will be increased, in addition to the fact that many have already found their first job at the Club.
The president of the CNJ, on the other hand, appealed to the aforementioned sports association to continue to train young sportsmen and professional men in the infrastructure that it is building to serve sports and the area of scientific sciences, elements that, for him, will help Angola growing.
After meeting with the Club’s Board of Directors and visiting França Ndalu’s facilities, Isaías Calunga said he was satisfied with the infrastructure of the Sports City, whose quality of space for training camps is on a par with others in Europe, America or Asia.
The Club’s president, Carlos Hendrick, reaffirmed that the project in question continues to be implemented with the help of more than 150,000 volunteer members of 1o de Agosto, as there is a strategy to prepare young people who join the senior teams.
According to the manager, the group’s desire is to win more victories and competitions, and that the training schools train more athletes for the “military” club to continue to grow.
“The Sports City was designed in a scientific way, with teaching staff and coaches coming from abroad, and who have brought many victories to the club and the country. With the school and the university, the city will have more advantages”, he stressed, in statements to press.
In addition to trainees, on boarding school, the city is currently hosting a selection from the Republic of Cameroon on an internship in the Angolan capital – Luanda.
