Angola analyzes the state of cooperation with Uruguay

Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan ambassador to Ethiopia, Miguel Bembe, and the Uruguayan counterpart, Néstor Navarro, analyzed, this Friday, in Addis-Ababa, the state of bilateral cooperation, having considered the economies of the respective countries complementary.

On the occasion, the Angolan diplomat

congratulated Néstor Rosa on his recent appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uruguay in Angola, with the status of non-resident.

According to a note from the Embassy of Angola in Ethiopia, the two diplomats emphasized the need to develop greater business exchange, especially in the private sector.

In the understanding of the interlocutors, it is necessary to give the private sector

the opportunity to define investment paths in productive areas and stimulate trade between the two countries.

Angola and Uruguay share historical relationships of fraternity and cooperate in various areas with enormous economic potential recognized globally, registering the existence of 15 bilateral agreements.

With regard to regional issues, both interlocutors underlined the need to deepen the dialogue between the Common Market of the South (MERCOSUR) and the Community for the Development of Southern Africa (SADC).

At the meeting, Miguel Bembe and Néstor Navarro highlighted the importance of the South Atlantic Peace and Cooperation Zone (ZOPACAS), as a relevant mechanism for dialogue and awareness raising on interregional security and cooperation.

Meanwhile, the Uruguayan ambassador informed that his accreditation in Angola is scheduled for the second half of this month.
