The Chief of the General Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces, aviation general, Altino dos Santos, addressed a congratulatory message to the staff of the Presidential Security Unit (USP), on the occasion of the celebration of the 47th anniversary of this military body, which is celebrated Saturday (8).
In the message, General Altino dos Santos hopes that the event will be celebrated with jubilation and a high spirit of mission, by all general officers, superiors, captains, subalterns, sergeants, squares and civilian workers at the service of this strategic military institution.
“Created in 1976, with the mission of guaranteeing the safety of the President of the Republic and his family, the Presidential Security Unit has been able to carry out this noble mission with zeal, determination and unusual professionalism”, highlights General Altino dos Santos in the missive.
He underlines that after 47 years, the Presidential Security Unit proudly asserts itself as an institution in permanent readiness, whose staff, imbued with high professionalism rooted in an unshakable patriotic feeling, today as in the past will continue to be an example to follow.
“On this festive occasion, I reiterate my heartfelt congratulations and wishes that the brave USP military personnel continue to firmly preserve the value of their mission with the same mastery, courage and determination as always, keeping alive the motto “USP, Intelligence, Determination and Loyalty”, reads the message.
