Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of the province of Zaire, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, underlined, last Sunday night, in Soyo, the need to work more towards greater border control in the region.
The official spoke about the inauguration of the Naval Base of the Angolan Navy in this locality, to take place this Monday, having considered the situation from the border point of view in Zaire to be normal, despite some problems likely to be overcome, which didn’t need to.
“We have to recognize that there are still small flaws, but I think they will soon be overcome”, he said, adding that the defense and security bodies are in time to resolve the situation in the best possible way.
He considers the military infrastructure to be a gain for the northern region, in general, and for the province, in particular the municipality of Soyo, so he expects that its entry into operation will greatly reduce the problem of violation of territorial waters .
According to Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, with this it will be possible to contribute to the promotion of maritime tourism and other additional services.
He referred that it was also necessary to ensure the control of land borders and pointed out the training of human capital as one of the main factors to be taken into account.
He indicated that it was an objective to work towards the growth of the province and referred that there are several concerns to be presented during an audience that will be granted to him by the President of the Republic.
João Lourenço is expected this Monday in the province for a working visit of a few hours, during which he will inaugurate the Soyo Naval Base.
The inauguration is part of the commemorations of the 47th anniversary of the Angolan Navy, which is celebrated today (July 10).
