Africa-Press – Angola. The Secretary of the President of the Republic for State Reform, Pedro Raimundo, this Tuesday in Ndalatando, Cuanza Norte province, urged civil servants to abandon the “old” authoritarian conceptions of public administration.
For this reason, he appealed to officials for a more dialoguing public administration in providing services to citizens.
Pedro Raimundo was speaking at a training seminar on Guidelines for the Simplification of Procedures process in Public Administration, within the scope of the implementation of the follow-up plan for the implementation of the “Projecto Simplifica”, at local level.
Likewise, he underlined the obligation of public administration bodies to avoid putting up bureaucratic barriers to citizens, with the aim of raising revenue.
“More than collecting revenue, the main focus of public administration is providing services to citizens”, he said.
He clarified that “Simplifica” will refocus public administration on satisfying the public interest, namely, making life easier for citizens and companies in accessing public services.
On the occasion, participants were informed about the simplification of procedures and modernization of services, discontinuity of the requirement for documents issued by the State in inter-administrative relations, integration of services, municipalization of services, extended or unlimited period of validity of documents, among others. .
In his speech, at the opening act of the event, the governor of Cuanza Norte, Pedro Makita Armando Júlia, stressed that the implementation of the Simplifica Project will improve the provision of public services to citizens and companies, increase the levels of efficiency and effectiveness of services and public servants.
He stated that the country has experienced, since the proclamation of independence, unpleasant moments that had negative influences on the way in which the State administration acted, which will now be removed with the implementation of Simplifica.
He also said that Simplifica will provide public servants with instruments that will change the way the State treats its citizens, within the framework of improving the services provided.
Provincial directors, municipal administrators and heads of different direct and indirect State administration bodies in Cuanza Norte participated in the event.
