Africa-Press – Angola. The athletes from the athletics team will have the support, Wednesday, of the Secretary of State for Sports, Teresa Ulundo, when they evolve in the 100 meters for the visually impaired (class T11) of the World Championship that takes place in France.
The official arrived in the country, stage of the event, on Tuesday night, as part of a work schedule that culminates in Portugal, according to a source.
Before boarding the national team for this competition, qualifying for the “France2024” Paralympic Games, in a ceremony for handing over the Flag of the Republic, Teresa Ulundo asked for responsibility and a spirit of discipline.
On the occasion, he recalled the importance of sports results, noting, however, that the sense of “fair-play” should never be neglected, especially in sports.
Angola enters the track at the Charlety Porte de Gentilly stadium with the sprinters Juliana Moko with a mark of 13.03, Regina Dumbo (13.08) and Emeloide Kassang (13.43).
Sunday, the national team failed to pass to the semi-finals of the 400 meters, in a race in which Regina Dumbo even managed to qualify, but was disqualified due to an irregular act by her guide athlete – she stepped on the line of an opposite track.
Manuel Jaime, another member of the group, led by coach José Manuel, evolves only on Thursday, in the 400 meters for disabled people, class T46.
The World Championship ends at 17 next.
