Africa-Press – Angola. The Secretary of State for Finance and Treasury, Ottoniel dos Santos, assured today that the country has money to pay salaries and other strategic expenses until the end of the current year.
Speaking at a press conference by the Economic Commission, the official explained that, in addition to salary expenses, there are conditions for the payment of public debt service and other essentials such as health, education (scholarship holders) and subsidies for veterans and former combatants. .
In turn, the Minister of State for the Economic Area, José de Lima Massano, on the same occasion, reaffirmed that the Executive has taken care of the issue of payment of salaries of civil servants at national level and in due time.
On the occasion, José de Lima Massano also informed that the Executive took over the payment in June, without delay, and that this (July) will be no different.
“This is the path we want to take” promised José de Lima Massano, adding that in relation to the issuance of Withdrawal Orders and their settlement there are still some that have not been settled.
In this regard, he stated that the Executive’s commitment is to regularize all Withdrawal Orders issued within a period of up to 90 days.
“From now on it will have to be like this. If we don’t have a revenue forecast to honor those payments, we won’t assume those responsibilities or these commitments”, she concluded.
He said that from the moment a withdrawal order is issued, the Executive’s obligation will be to ensure settlement within 90 days.
Today, Friday, under the guidance of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, the Economic Commission of the Council of Ministers approved several emergency measures of an economic nature to face the cost of living in the country.
