Africa-Press – Angola. The secretary of JURA in the province of Huambo, Arlindo Hombo Mangango, called Sunday, for more effective youth participation in the implementation of public policies and in the reinforcement of democracy in the country.
The party officiall, on the sidelines of the lecture on “Youth, citizenship and participation”, held at the Provincial Library of Huambo, as part of the commemorations of the 47th anniversary of the founding of JURA (youth branch of UNITA).
On the occasion, Arlindo Hombo Mangango appealed to youth to effectively participate in strengthening democracy in the country and to get involved in socio-economic solutions, with the aim of increasing employability levels.
He said it was necessary for this social fringe to be increasingly open, non-partisan and flexible to dialogue, with diverse academic and technical-professional backgrounds, in order to have a significant and conscious public participation, focused, above all, on the development of the country. .
He considers it important that the Angolan Executive does not neglect, whenever necessary, to consult the opinion of the youth during the elaboration of social policy projects aimed at this fringe, as they are the main experts on their problems.
Arlindo Hombo Mangango said that the lecture served to bring young people closer together, for a better involvement in citizenship and democracy actions, within the framework of everyone’s participation and social inclusion.
He informed that the days alluding to the anniversary of JURA start on the 18th of the current month and end on the 28th of October next, with various lectures and political and patriotic actions, with the aim of strengthening this social fringe.
JURA was founded on July 18, 1974, by David Janotão, who was its first president.
