Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, expressed this Sunday her dismay at the death of Queen Nhacatolo Tchlombo, which occurred Saturday, a victim of illness, in a health unit in Luanda.
In a message of condolences addressed to the family Carolina Cerqueira says that the sovereign of the Luvale
stood out, throughout her life, as a woman of great courage, committed to improving the living conditions of the populations of Alto Zambezi and the eastern region of Angola.
According to the president of AN, Queen Nhacatolo carried out her work with a great sense of patriotic duty, wisdom and respect for the most noble interests of the Motherland, having asserted herself as a fearless guardian of tradition and the rich culture and customs of her people.
“With his death, Angola loses an outstanding figure of traditional power and an outstanding daughter of the Motherland”, reads the message.
According to Carolina Cerqueira, an easy-going, perceptive figure with great tenacity, Queen Nhacatolo Tchilombo leaves a great legacy of leadership and humility that should serve as an example for future generations and an inspiration for young women.
“We render her our most respectful homage and hope that her name will remain perennial in the history of Angola, which she served in a heroic and patriotic way”, reinforces Carolina Cerqueira.
The 86-year-old sovereign, who resided in the commune of Cavungo, municipality of Alto Zambeze, assumed the throne of the Luvale tribe in 2004, after succeeding queen Nhakatolo Tchissengo, who died in 1992.
