Africa-Press – Angola. The Integrated Program for Development and Combating Poverty (PIDLCP) has so far enabled the socio-productive integration of 461 former soldiers and dependents in the province of Lunda Norte, out of the 2,602 planned.

The information was provided Sunday by the deputy governor for the Social, Political and Economic Sector of Lunda Norte, Frederico Barroso, during the working visit of the minister of Social Action, Family and Women’s Promotion, Ana Paula do Sacramento, stressing that the former -military personnel benefited from agricultural and trade promotion projects.

He assured that the local government, within the framework of the PIDLCP and other initiatives, will continue to pay special attention to former soldiers and their dependents, with a view to improving their living conditions.

On the other hand, he said that the PIDLCP allowed the return of school meals in 86 educational institutions, which covered, in the academic year/2023, 20,163 students from the ten municipalities of Lunda-Norte.

The financial execution of the program was estimated at two billion, 710 million, 275 thousand and 834 kwanzas, which corresponds to 80.66 percent of the overall budget above three billion.

The funds were used to build schools, posts, medical centers, water holes, fountains, bridges, bridges, public lighting and support for family farming.

The objectives of the Integrated Program for Local Development and Combating Poverty are aligned with the National Development Plan, through coordinated management, based on an adequate selection of territories and beneficiaries, after consultation between the municipal administrations.
