Africa-Press – Angola. The under-16 men’s national basketball team won Monday, in Monastir, Tunisia, a similar team from Rwanda, by a difficult 60-59, in the game of the 4th round of the African Championship of the category (Afrobasket2023) .

With this tight result, in a match played at Arena Salles Mohamed Mzali, which registered partials of 18-9, 15-17, 19-18 and 8-15, Angola occupies the second position of Group A, with seven (7) points, then leader Mali (8), then Rwanda (6), Côte d ́Ivoire (5) and Tunisia (3).

On Sunday, the representation of the country also triumphed, in the third meeting of the competition, over the host team of Tunisia, by scarce 48-45, after losing to Mali, by 43-67, in the debut.

As for the women’s team, it added to the second victory, Sunday, in the continental competition of the same category, against Rwanda, by 74-42, in the third challenge, after having already overcome (78-51), Saturday, the team from Morocco .

Thus, the Angolan formation occupies the 2nd place in Group B, with five (5) points, behind the leader Mali (6).
