Africa-Press – Angola. Fish catch levels in the country, in the first half of the year, are set at around 330,000 tons, said in Luanda, the Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Cármen Sacramento Neto.
Speaking to the press, on the sidelines of the official launching ceremony of the 1st edition of the “Expo Economia Azul”, to take place from 26 to 28 October, the official made it known that this volume of fish includes trawling, purse seine and Seafood.
In this segment, says the minister, from the 1st of September, the year of fishing for horse mackerel, sardines, sardinella and other pelagics begins (captures the surface of the open sea)
This fact, explains the director, will allow the fish figure to exceed the 330 tonnes recorded during the first six months of this year.
Questioned about the inspection of the seas and oceans, the holder of Fisheries said that it is assured, despite the lack of resources and some means.
