Africa-Press – Angola. The continuity of roller hockey in Angola is safeguarded, said this Wednesday, in Luanda, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Palmira Barbosa, alluding to the double achievement in the African Championships, held in Cairo (Egypt).
Speaking to the press, at the end of the reception attended by the two teams (senior and U19) that won the continental competition in August, the official also spoke about the legacy left behind when referring to previous generations.
“Happy with the seniors for the revalidation and with the legacy for the juniors, who also dominated their category”, he reiterated.
The president of the Angolan Skating Federation (FAP), Dionísio Viegas, lamented the way in which the teams left the country for Egypt, for financial reasons.
He said there was awareness of financial problems, but that the federation had to reinvent itself to participate with the two teams in the African Championships and achieve its objectives.
This is the second senior trophy in the Angolan gallery, after the one obtained in the first edition, held in 2019, in Luanda (Angola).
