Africa-Press – Angola. The national secretary for International Relations of the General Central of Independent and Free Unions of Angola (CGSILA), Hermínia do Nascimento, defended this Wednesday, in the city of Uíge, greater unity between unions, a measure that will help in the resolution problems faced by workers.
The official, who was speaking during the inauguration of four new members of the CGSILA provincial secretariat in Uíge, explained that the union of unions will allow better solutions to be found for workers’ labor, social and legislative problems.
Among the problems faced by the class, the union leader highlighted the improvement of working conditions, respect for the General Labor Law, a 10% reduction in the Labor Income Tax (IRT), implementation of isolation subsidies and other concerns.
He informed that CGSILA, UNTA and Força Sindical sent a statement of demands, on the 4th of this month, to the Government. He explained that the document, which is awaiting a response, contains several concerns raised by workers.
In turn, the new representative of CGSILA in Uíge, Amândio Simão, said that the focus will be on revitalizing structures, creating facilities, as well as bringing more members to the association.
