Africa-Press – Angola. Sixteen fighters were called up to serve on the National Jiu-Jitsu Team, which is defending its title of champion, at the African Nations Championship, to be held from 15 to 19 November, in Morocco.
These are athletes João dos Santos (-69 kg), Joaquim Fernando (-69 kg), Banino Kinanga (-77 kg), Inelton Bombo (-85 kg), Geovanny Garcia (-94 kg), Marcelina Kaliqui (-48 kg), Ruth Escovalo (-52kg), Eliza Fraçois (+63 kg) from the traditional style.
Also included are Brazilian fighters, namely Erick Benson (-77kg), Derson Xavier (-56kg), Luís António (-62kg), Otchivela Catanha (-52kg) and Luzimeiry Garcia (+77kg).
Completing the group, from the Brazilian model, are athletes Ana Vilela (-62 kg) and Elaine Mussungo (-70kg) and Stelany da Silva (-57kg).
The National Team duo, led by Pakissi Nginga (Brazilian) and Vieira Barros (traditional), will head to the competition stage between the 13th and 15th of November, in which Angola holds the title of champion, achieved in 2022 in the country.
Angola participates for the fourth time, after 2014 (South Africa), 2015 (Tunisia) and 2022 in the country.
