Angola pays tribute to the former President of Hungary

Africa-Press – Angola. Angola’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Mateus Luemba, paid tribute, this Friday, in New York, United States of America (USA), to the former President of Hungary, László Sólyom, who died on Sunday, due to illness.

Ambassador Mateus Luemba wrote, in the book of condolences, that Angola recognizes former President László Sólyom as a beacon of democracy, for the decisive role he played in the establishment of democracy and constitutional reform in his country.

“During his mandate, bilateral relations between our two countries gained new momentum, particularly in the training of Angolan staff on Hungarian soil”, reads the message.

Former President László Sólyom governed Hungary from 2005 to 2010.
