Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan community in Serbia opened, over the weekend, the commemorative day of Dipanda, with the holding of a men’s futsal tournament, with the participation of eight teams.
The event brought together members of the diplomatic mission, including the Angolan ambassador, Emílio de Carvalho Sobrinho, and ambassador Maria Clarice Carvalho, and the Angolan community residing in Serbia.
On the occasion, Ambassador Emílio de Carvalho Sobrinho highlighted the historical importance of the date for Angolans, the need for closer ties with the Angolan community and exchange with other peoples, especially Africans.
Emílio de Carvalho Sobrinho highlighted the importance of practicing sports.
“A healthy body and a healthy mind”, he reinforced, stating that by creating consistent routines and habits for physical activity, the discipline and determination necessary not only for the sports field, but also for academics, is cultivated and perfected, increasing productivity.
The program includes, for the next few days, cultural and recreational activities.
