Africa-Press – Angola. The deputy minister of Education and Culture of Namibia, Faustina Caley, praised, this Friday, in Luanda, the Angolan Executive for the role developed in favor of the culture of peace and democracy in Africa.
The Namibian ruler, who was speaking at the end of a visit to the Military History Museum, called for the continuation of pacification efforts, with a view to the sustainable development of the continent.
He highlighted the importance of democratic exercise and defended greater commitment from youth, as they constitute the future of societies.
“I congratulate the Angolan Government, as well as the people, for everything they have done, especially in the spirit of the culture of peace and democracy”, he stressed, highlighting that without peace and democracy there is no development.
He considered the III edition of the Luanda Biennale a success not only for Angola, but for the continent, as it allowed the concerns of youth to be heard, knowledge exchanged and experience transmitted by government leaders and former African leaders, in order to guide this fringe to follow the best paths towards healthy coexistence.
As for the visit, he said it was exciting, as it served to learn a little more about the history of Angola, from the battles of the kings during colonization, the armed struggle for independence and the achievement of definitive peace.
“It was a moving and emotional journey, since, with Angola’s victory, my country also gained independence”, said the minister.
Participants in the Pan-African Forum for Culture of Peace – Luanda Biennial 2023, which the country organized from the 22nd to the 24th of this month, visited this Friday the António Agostinho Neto Memorial and the National Museum of Military History, where they received information linked to the history of country.
