Africa-Press – Angola. With two goals from Paty, Interclube achieved, on Sunday, in the city of Uíge, their first victory in the National Championship of the first division “Girabola2023/24, after beating Santa Rita de Cássia, by 0-2.
The challenge, played at the 4 de Janeiro stadium, counts for the 5th round.
In the 25th minute with a direct free kick and in the 72nd minute with a shot from the edge of the penalty area, Paty scored the goals of the challenge that allowed the police to achieve their first victory in this edition of Girabola.
With this victory, Interclube, which drew two games and lost the same number of matches, has 5 points and is in eleventh place, while Santa Rita de Cássia, with 6 points, remains in ninth place.
Interclube appeared with a well-organized scheme, as the mobility of the attack took away from the local team’s central defenders, making Santa Rita de Cássia’s defensive game difficult.
Santa Rita’s furthest sector was forced to move up the playing rectangle, leaving spaces behind, a situation that was well exploited by Interclube’s players.
At the end of the match, Santa Rita de Cássia’s physical trainer, António Sebastião “Dicas”, lamented the defeat against a team that knew how to take advantage of the mistakes made.
For his part, Interclube’s head coach, Luís Gonçalves, who valued the triumph achieved away from home, said he wanted a strong Interclube capable of winning on any field.
In the 6th round, Santa Rita de Cássia will face local Sporting in Cabinda, while Interclube will host São Salvador do Zaire.
