Africa-Press – Angola. The Republic of Angola is participating, this Tuesday until Thursday, in the 3rd session of 2023 of the Executive Council of the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat), which takes place in Nairobi (Kenya).
The country is represented by Angola’s permanent ambassador to the UN Offices in the Kenyan capital, Sianga Abílio.
In this Tuesday’s work session, the 36 Member States of the UN-Habitat Executive Council, including Angola, addressed several issues linked to the global policy of sustainable human settlements, with emphasis on normative and operational, financial, budgetary and administrative situation and the preparation of the strategic plan for the period 2026-2029.
Over the three days, delegates will also look at the report by UN-Habitat Executive Director, Maimunah Mohd Sharif, as well as analyze the main obstacles to the implementation of the New Urban Agenda by Member States and assess preparations for the 12th session of the World Urban Forum, scheduled for November 2024, in the city of Cairo, Egypt.
