The 2nd secretary of the MPLA in Cuando Cubango, João Yambo Miguel, reiterated this Friday, in Menongue, the provincial capital, his party’s commitment to continuing to defend the fundamental values and principles of a Democratic State and the rule of law, as well as well as the well-being of Angolans.
When speaking at the opening of the activities alluding to the 67th anniversary of the founding of the MPLA, to be celebrated on December 10th, under the motto: “MPLA, 67 years for unity, progress and commitment for Angola”, he recalled that, since the post-independence phase , the MPLA has been fundamental in building the principles and will expressed by Angolans at the polls.
He highlighted that, despite national and international economic and social challenges, the MPLA won the legislative elections on August 24, 2022 for the 5th consecutive time, with an agenda voted by the majority of Angolans, which is deserving special attention from the Executive .
“We vehemently repudiate all forms of political intolerance, disrespect for national symbols and the country’s highest figures, as well as sovereign bodies, because we consider that such acts can jeopardize order and social peace”, he highlighted.
He called on MPLA activists to reinforce awareness-raising activities, especially among young people, transmitting the values of democracy, patriotism and civility, determining factors for the construction of a truly democratic State.
He made it known that the day will be filled with various activities, such as lectures, meetings with activists, musical-cultural and sporting activities, visits to social projects and historical sites, with the highest point being the holding of the provincial event.
