Africa-Press – Angola. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) increased financing limits for member countries, allowing access to 200% of the annual quota of the Poverty Reduction and Growth Fund (PRGT), with cumulative access reaching 600%.
“The IMF Board of Directors agreed on a temporary increase in access to annual PRGT quota to 200% of the quota and the normal cumulative access limit rises to 600% of the quota by the end of 2024”, reads an IMF statement, in which it is realized that the objective of these changes is to “support countries of low incomes in a particularly challenging global economic environment”.
O PRGT is the IMF’s concessional fund, and has lent money to countries with more difficulties with a zero interest rate, according to Lusa.
