CAN'2023: Fans cheer on a giant screen at the Angola/Algeria game

Africa-Press – Angola. Fans of the National Football Team cheered on Monday night, in Talatona (Luanda), during and after the game against Algeria, on a giant screen set up in the Platine Line arena.

The challenge between Angolans and Algerians refers to the first round (group D) of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN’2023), taking place in Côte d’Ivoire until the 11th of February.

During the match, played at the Paz Stadium, two moments were experienced (nervousness and joy), during the disadvantage and when Angola reached a draw.

Despite the goal conceded in the 18th minute, the local supporters believed that the Palancas Negras would be able to overcome this negative result.

It was like this, that in the 68th minute, Mabululu, when leaving the substitutes bench, reestablished equality, with a penalty.

This goal raised the expectations of the fans, who were looking forward to a successful debut for the Palancas Negras, in their ninth appearance in the finals, since their debut in 1996, in South Africa.

With this result, the Palancas Negras (name of the national team) made a positive start to their presence in the 34th edition of this continental competition.

The local fans, including Kudurista Preto Show and DJ MC Cabinda, are confident that the team will perform well in this competition.
