Africa-Press – Angola. The Attorney General’s Office (PGR), in the province of Zaire, has had a new deputy attorney general since Tuesday, presented to the members of the Provincial Government.
This is Luciano Agostinho Cungulo, who replaces António Espanhol, who for two years and seven months was in charge of the PGR in the province of Zaire.
In his first statement, the new deputy attorney general of the Republic of Zaire promised to work with related bodies to combat fuel smuggling.
He said that with the discussion and approval in the coming days, by the National Assembly (AN), on the law on smuggling of petroleum products, Public Prosecutor’s Office magistrates will be better equipped with legal instruments to deal with cases related to this phenomenon.
Currently, he said, the fight against fuel smuggling has not been very effective due to the lack of a diploma that regulates this practice that corrodes the national economy.
“With the entry into force of this legal instrument, the bodies that intervene in the administration of justice will have sufficient elements to act”, he highlighted.
The deputy governor of Zaire for the political, social and economic sector, Afonso Nzolameso, promised institutional support to the new deputy attorney general of the Republic.
The event was witnessed by magistrates, members of the Provincial Government, security and defense bodies, among other guests.
