PIIM: Government of Lunda-Norte considers termination of contracts

Africa-Press – Angola. The deputy governor for technical areas and infrastructures of the province of Lunda-Norte, Domingos Dala, warned this Tuesday that the local government is considering terminating contracts and holding responsible contractors who, due to negligence, do not comply with contractual deadlines, especially in works included in the Integrated Municipal Intervention Plan (PIIM).

Speaking to the press, regarding the halted works in the province, the official said that in addition to the termination of contracts and criminal liability, contractors will be excluded from upcoming public tenders for the construction of social infrastructures and other services.

He said that recently the municipal administrations of Cuango and Lóvua terminated contracts with two contractors who were awarded the rehabilitation work on one of the lots in the section (Cuango/Loremo) and the Lóvua municipal administration building, due to non-compliance with contractual clauses. Both projects are included in PIIM.

He made it known that a termination process is underway with some companies in the municipality of Cambulo, which are not being able to complete some projects and, subsequently, the case will be referred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP).

Lunda-Norte registered 108 projects in PIIM, 49 of which were completed, 40 ongoing and 17 yet to be started.
