Africa-Press – Angola. Twenty-one works from different literary genres compete, in the province of Bengo, for the Ngandu Literary Prize, the winner of which will be announced on March 5th.
In this second edition of the award, the competition seeks new works by writers from the region.
The registration process, opened on November 15, 2023, ended this Monday (15), with the reception of 21 works of different genres, which will be analyzed at this stage by the panel of judges.
On March 5th, the date of the winner’s announcement, the work will be published in a book and will be presented in April, as part of the festivals in the province of Bengo.
The winner will receive an amount of 500 thousand Kwanzas and will have their work published in a book with 300 copies.
According to the member of the organizing committee, Sadrac António, in this second edition the number of competitors increased, from the previous five to 21 competing for the prize.
The first edition of the Ngandu Literary Prize took place in 2021/2022 and was won by Domingos Mignaldo with the work “Coléricus”.
