Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, expressed, this Monday, dismay at the death of the former president of the German parliament, Wolfgang Shauble.
In a message sent to her counterpart Barbel Bas, Carolina Cerqueira highlights the deceased as a persistent fighter for democracy and one of the architects of the reunification of Germany and an uncompromising defender of a united and democratic Europe.
“On behalf of the Angolan deputies, I offer my heartfelt condolences to the German Parliamentarians, the family and friends of the late Wolfgang Shauble, whose memory and example of life will continue to be present in the history of world parliamentarism and the Republic of Germany”, reads the message.
