Africa-Press – Angola. Judicial Magistrates and the Public Prosecutor’s Office participated this Thursday, in the municipality of Viana (Luanda), in a seminar on fiscal and tax crimes, as part of the fight against tax evasion in the district.
Opened by the head of the Guarantee Judge Support Unit, José Eduardo, the event also aims to improve revenue collection for the State coffers.
During the meeting, whose speaker was the head of the department of investigation of criminal, tax, customs and maritime infractions, Prazeres Monteiro, participants were informed about the intricacies of crimes related to this matter, taking into account that the municipality is considered fertile, especially in the smuggling of goods and breaking of seals.
In his intervention, José Eduardo mentioned that there are concerns in the handling of cases regarding the processing of tax and fiscal crimes, at the level of Viana, which is why it is necessary to focus on strengthening the matter.
For his part, the Chief of Staff of the Tax and Customs Police, Mário Alberto, highlighted the role of the institution in this regard, referring to the operational management of the general tax administration as one of the pillars, as well as the security of tax offices and other buildings. existing taxes.
He defended everyone’s collaboration in the “fight” to stop the commission of crimes and tax infractions.
