Africa-Press – Angola. The holding of a national conference on the protection of children’s rights and the fight against domestic violence was discussed, in a hearing that the vice-president of the MPLA, Luísa Damião, granted, this Wednesday, to the general secretary of the Council of Christian Churches of Angola (CICA), Deolinda Teca Dorca.
Speaking to the press, the religious leader informed that the conference should take place from the 20th to the 23rd of February, with particular focus on the situation of needy children, which in her view is getting worse across the country.
The general secretary of CICA said she also expressed concern about the prices of the basic food basket, which tend to increase despite the reduction in VAT from 14 to seven percent.
Deolinda Teca Dorca said that she had received guarantees that the prices of basic food products will soon reduce due to the set of measures that the Executive is taking to minimize the situation.
