Africa-Press – Angola. Angola’s participation in the Paris Olympic Games, from July 24th to August 11th, was evaluated this Wednesday, in Luanda, between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the French ambassador to the country.

Palmira Barbosa (Angola) and Sophie Aubert (France) met in the meeting room of the supervisory ministry and checked the preparation of the Angolan delegation for the event, which is taking place for the third time in the French city of Paris, after the 1900 editions and 1924.

The meeting, in which the president of the Angolan Olympic Committee, Gustavo da Conceição, also participated, also discussed registrations, as well as the usual parallel activities both in the country and in France.

Upon leaving the audience, the French ambassador, Sophie Aubert, stated that the meeting was productive and that it was important to note the organizational work already carried out, mainly in relation to the delegation’s arrival time at the event stage.

Swimming, athletics, canoeing and handball already have a guaranteed presence through participation in qualifying tournaments.

Finally, the diplomat stated that she is closely monitoring the performance of the National Football Team, qualified for the quarter-finals of CAN`2023, which will be played in Côte d`Ivoire.

Sophie Aubert said she is rooting for Angola in the continental event, where they will face Nigeria, on Friday, to reach the semi-finals.
