Africa-Press – Angola. The city of Huambo hosts, between the 8th and 9th of this month, the II Consultative Council of the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS) under the motto “Connect and Communicate for Citizenship”.

The event, which will take place in the auditorium of the Journalist Training Center (CEFOJOR), inaugurated on January 12th, by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, will analyze issues relating to the sector in the country.

According to the general activity program sent the work will be guided by the holder of the portfolio, Mário Augusto da Silva Oliveira.

The agenda reserves for the first day (08) approaches to specific themes and a Master Class.

For the second and last day, after completing the specific internal program, which may last until 1pm, methodological meetings are planned with the Press Attachés, Telecommunications and Information Technologies, with the Institutional Communication and Press offices and with those responsible for the provincial Social Communication offices.

At the same time, visits to the city of Huambo and three social and economic projects are planned for the 7th (Thursday).

The meeting will be attended by the MINTTICS Secretaries of State, Boards of Directors, national directors and general directors of supervised institutions, consultants, directors of the Institutional Communication offices, press attachés and directors of the provincial Social Communication offices.

It is recalled that the first Advisory Council took place in August 2021 in Luanda, the country’s capital.

The Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, abbreviated as “MINTTICS”, is the Auxiliary Ministerial Department of the Holder of the Executive Power, whose mission is to propose the formulation, conduct, execution and control of policy in the areas of telecommunications, information technologies for postal services, meteorology and geophysics, social communications, advertising, oriented towards the country’s internal and external connection.

It includes the structuring of the general lines, norms and standards of institutional communication to be carried out by the different Ministerial Departments, with support whenever necessary from MINTTICS.

A look at CEFOJOR – Huambo

Implemented on a surface of 80 thousand square meters and 19 thousand of built area, the project, located in the Macolocolo neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Huambo, was built to ensure training in the areas of Journalism, Public Relations, Multimedia, Cinema, Advertising and Marketing at the Southern African Development Community (SADC) country and region level.

The infrastructure, budgeted at around 35 million US dollars, encompasses six buildings, one of which is reserved for the catering service, two multi-sports courts and six transit residences, with types T4 and T3, in addition to studios TV, Radio and Press.

It also has 16 classrooms, 88 dormitories for 200 students, an auditorium with capacity for 300 people “named” after the teacher and writer Gabriela Antunes, a photography studio, in addition to a library, infirmary and digital room. to the.

digital.ao , supervised by the National Institute for the Promotion of the Information Society (INFOSI), is a platform that completes the incubation of startups.

The platform receives many requests for technological projects, a fact that reveals the increase in the creative spirit of young people.

The CEFOJOR-Huambo facilities were designed to stimulate the academic and practical growth of students to improve journalistic skills.

The TV and Radio studios and the Press room of CEFOJOR (Huambo) pay homage to the journalists Celestino Caeso (TPA), Carlos Pereira (Radio) and Joaquim Neves António, along with the auditorium called “Gabriela Antunes”.
