Governor encourages women to prioritize training

Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of the province of Lunda-Norte, Deolinda Satula Vilarinho, encouraged women, especially young people, this Friday, to prioritize professional and academic training, with a view to being prepared for social, political, economic and cultural challenges.

Speaking at the provincial event on International Women’s Day, the minister said that women in Angola have been asserting themselves in the political and economic panorama, as a result of their resilience, intelligence and audacity, qualities that must continue to be reinforced with academic achievement..

On the other hand, he highlighted that the Angolan Executive has promoted policies aimed at education, health, training, professional development, employability and women’s empowerment, as well as female participation in management and leadership roles, taking significant steps towards achieving equality of opportunities.

Therefore, he continued, it is necessary to continue to prioritize “the correction of imbalances, with a view to recognizing the historical, social, cultural, legal and political inequalities between men and women, which contribute to the asymmetry of power between the genders”.

“However, in order for us to achieve everything we want, it is necessary for each one of us, wherever we are, to do our part, because only then will we form a strengthened nation, capable of overcoming all obstacles”, he stressed.
