Africa-Press – Angola. The candidate for the position of provincial secretary of the Social Renewal Party (PRS) in Benguela, Natália Tito, promised, this Wednesday, to do everything to revitalize her political formation, if she is elected in next Friday’s election.
Former deputy provincial secretary of the PRS between 2014 and 2016, Natália Nassungo Tito is among six candidates the only woman aspiring to the party leadership of the social renewers in Benguela, at the renewal conference on March 15th.
Speaking this Wednesday, at the end of the electoral campaign, which had been running since February 25th, Natália Tito takes on the challenge of taking the PRS out of the current state of lethargy in this region of the country.
In a very critical tone against the outgoing provincial secretary, Francisco Chilala, whom she accuses of alleged mismanagement of party funds, the candidate argues that it is necessary to streamline the functioning of municipal secretariats.
In addition to the lack of political activities in the last term, Natália Tito also listed the lack of accountability and financial reports, to allegedly cover up the embezzlement of part of the five million kwanzas from list delegates from the last general elections.
“We verified five million kwanzas from list delegates. The outgoing secretary also did not pay the list delegates in full”, said the person in charge.
According to her, the provincial headquarters of the PRS in Benguela was closed for a year and, consequently, the municipal secretaries were left to fend for themselves, which dispersed many activists.
Natália Tito claims that the time has come for the PRS to turn the page in Benguela, which is why she appealed to the members for a vote of confidence to lead the party for the next five years.
The challenge, he said, is to prevent the PRS from disappearing from the political scene in the province of Benguela, as happened with the CASA-CE coalition, now led by a management committee.
Addressing the militant mass, he guarantees that he will create working conditions for municipal staff, as well as investing in training to improve the party’s performance.
The rejuvenation of the Youth for Social Renewal (JURS) and the female structure of the aforementioned party is another line of strength, according to Natália Tito, who is confident of victory.
The provincial PRS mandate renewal conference in Benguela takes place on Friday, with the participation of 126 delegates who will elect the next local secretary of social renewers from among six competitors.
